Surjomukhi (Handicrafts) is a fair-trade organization in Dhaka-Bangladesh that produces a unique line of educational products, play costumes, toys, prototype costumes and gift items in textile using its own designers and trained local artisans.

Surjomukhi provides stable and fair employment to its workers, mostly women, who come from rural tribes and socially and economically marginalised strata of the Bangladeshi society. The workers receive extended training and support from Surjomukhi, especially with the aim that the workers in turn will pass the skills to others in their communities.

Surjomukhi matures the already existing traditional crafts and needlework skills in their workers while facilitating them to be multi-skilled. Each Surjomukhi product is completed by a single worker, from start to finish, giving them the creative ownership of that product.
